Each year the Dyer Station Celebration Committee places a very special Christmas tree at Food Rite. This Christmas tree is decorated with the wishes and needs of children in Dyer who may not have the opportunity to experience the joy of Christmas without help from their neighbors.

If you’d like to support the mission of the giving tree, drop by Food Rite before December 12 and select a card or cards for some of these children. Fulfill the wish by purchasing the gift on the card and return the wrapped or bagged gift to Food Rite before December 12.

The names of children are kept confidential, and the Dyer Station Committee makes every effort to make certain each child gets something they need and something on their wish list. The Committee makes certain each child gets something (even if the card isn’t picked up) — if you’re unable to select a card or want to help make sure each child gets something, will you consider donating to Dyer Station?

You can donate right here!

Dyer native, Ken Roberts, son of Pastor James and Joyce Roberts, who lives and pastors in Minneapolis Minnesota and author of the newly released book – Unexpected: Navigating Life’s Unforeseen Turns, will be returning to Dyer the first week of July for some speaking and book signing engagements.

On Sunday morning, July 1st Ken will be speaking at the Dyer First Assembly Of God church with an opportunity to purchase a signed copy of his new book following the meeting.

On Wednesday, July 4th Ken will be signing copies of his book at the Dyer Station Celebration Craft Fair at David Robinson Park.

Ken is looking forward to coming “home” and seeing many friends and making some new ones.

Ken says of his new book:

My books premise is simple and straightforward. Adversity doesn’t discriminate. Live long enough and unexpected turns happen to all of us- a once healthy marriage crumbles, a son or daughter becomes an addict, a long friendship abruptly ends, a parent’s health quickly declines, a business investment goes bad, a routine check-up reveals cancer, a long awaited child is born deformed – and how we navigates through these times, ultimately determines who we become.

So if you have or are experiencing an unexpected turn in life- this book is for you.

For more information or to purchase a copy of Ken’s book online, visit www.kenlroberts.com

Ken’s Bio

Ken Roberts is the visionary leader and primary teaching pastor of New Life Community, located in Maple Grove, Minnesota. Before serving at New Life Community, Ken served for twenty-five years on the pastoral team of Worldview Community Church, located in Olmsted Falls, Ohio.

His ongoing desire is to create a place where authentic Christ-followers can reach their full redemptive potential through the process of spiritual formation and as a result fulfill their God given purposes and passions. Ken’s vision is to see an authentic, intergenerational, and missional spiritual community committed to growing from the inside out and as a result having a city, national and global impact.

Ken lives with his wife Missy in Maple Grove, Minnesota. He has two adult children, Nicole and Britton, and a step son, Mychael.
