2011 Schedule

FALL & CHRISTMAS SCHEDULE

The “GIVING TREE” will be up at Food Rite before Thanksgiving. Gifts will need to be returned by 12/12/2011.                  

SHOP IN DYER will be held December 1, 2011 from 6 – 8 p.m. Check back often for a complete listing of participating businesses.

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA will be held December 3, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at the Cumberland Presbyterian Fellowship Hall. (There is no cost for children)

DYER CHRISTMAS PARADE will be December 3, 2011. The parade will begin at 5:00 p.m. Parade lineup will be at 4:00 p.m. in the Tiger Express parking lot area.

CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR will be December 4, 2011 at 2 - 5 p.m. Tickets are $5.00.

 

2011 Dyer Station Celebration Schdule – June 29 – July4

The Dyer Station Celebration will begin on Wednesday evening, June 29. We hope you’ll take part in some or all of the community activities during the holiday, while remembering to cherish your freedom, those who gave some or all to preserve it,  and the wonderful community in which we live.

Wednesday, June 29

  • 6:00 PM –  Opening Ceremonies at the VFW
  • 7:00 PM – Community-Wide Church Service (Dyer Ministerial Alliance) at Dyer First Baptist Church
  • Candlelight Memorial Service –  Immediately following Church Service

Thursday, June 30

  • 7:00 PM – Praise Singing at Dyer First United Methodist Church

Friday, July 1

The following activities will take place in Downtown Dyer behind the Georgia McIlwain Ellis Mini-Park.

  • 6:00 PM – Cake Walk
  • 6:30 PM – Concessions and Homemade Ice Cream Sales
  • 6:30 PM – Memorabilia Sales
  • 7:00 PM – Country Street Dance featuring “Dakota”
    • Dyer Station Steppers exhibition – During the dance

Saturday, July 2

  • 10:00 AM – Rook Tournament at the VFW
  • 1:00 PM – Spoons, NERTZ, Spades, Checkers, Darts, Dominoes Tournaments at First Presbyterian Church Manse
  • 6:00 PM – Team Trivia Bowl Contest at 1st Presbyterian Manse
  • 8:00 PM Karaoke At The Park at David Robinson Park Gazebo

Sunday, July 3

  • 2:00 PM Patriotic Cantata, “Sweet Land of Liberty” – at Cumberland Presbyterian Church
  • Taste of Dyer Immediately follows the cantata

Monday, July 4

The following activities will take place at the David Robinson Park unless otherwise noted.

  • 8:00 AM – Fourth of July Parade Lineup at the City Lumber Parking Lot
  • 8:00 AM – Lion’s Club Food Sales
  • 8:00 AM – Barbecue butts and sandwiches sales (GCHS Band Boosters) until sold out
  • 8:00 AM – Old Country Store until sold out
  • 8:00 AM – Arts and Crafts Sales (Jimmy and Janet West)
  • 9:00 AM – Fourth of July Parade ($5 if entry is being judged)
    • Dignitaries’ Reception – Immediately following parade at VFW
  • Afternoon – Water Jet Sprayer (Dyer Fire Department)
  • 12:00 – Noon – Scavenger Hunt – Pick up items list at Gazebo
  • 1:00 PM – Bingo at the Gazebo
  • 1:30 PM – Cornhole Contest
  • 2:30 PM – Pet Show (Kim and Tim Roberts) at the Gazebo
  • 4:00 PM – Dodgeball at the Park (Local teams and area wrestlers’ teams)
  • 8: 30 PM – Closing Ceremonies by the Gazebo
  • 9:00 PM – Fireworks Display (Best seen from or close to the park)
